While frogspawn-infused caviar might not sound that appealing, its just one of the insanely-priced dishes that will be featured in a new two-part series on Channel 4, aptly titled The World’s Most Expensive Food. The caviar is made by infusing sturgeon caviar with an extract of African Clawed Frog frogspawn, and while it doesn’t currently have a price tag, it’s said to be more expensive than the high-end Golden Almas caviar which currently sells for is £4,125 (approximately $6,500 USD) for a measly 250g. Some of the other featured items include such rare delights as coffee made from a Weasel’s poop at £325 (approximately $500 USD) a cup, smoked salmon filets that have been serenaded with jazz music at £108 (approximately $170 USD) a pop, a £5,000 (approximately $7,800 USD) shot of 1811 Napoleon Grande Reserve cognac and goose barnacles worth £70 (approximately $110 USD) per plate. The World’s Most Expensive Food begins airing on Channel 4 this Wednesday, May 13.
