Drake himself was not immune to a fair share of flak — mostly for his fashion choices — at the finale of the OVO Fest. The flight suit he wore while roasting Meek Mill with a slew of memes was ironically subject to memes itself, but could Drake be onto something bigger? While the flight suit may not be pervasive right now, it actually has a long history stemming alongside that of the Nike Air Force 1. The original AF1 rollout centered around planes and flight, and the flight suit was a natural complement to the then-innovative shoe. It was donned by Jordan and the Original 6, released in various colorways to the public. Following that, Jordan would bring the flight suit with him to the Air Jordan 2 all the way to 8, with each new iteration complemented by a showing of the functional suit in one way or another. So Drake’s choice of attire may have been questionable, but definitely signifies an alignment with the Jordan brand and probably many more collabs to come. He did, after all, unveil a never-before-seen pair of Air Jordan 8s while in them.
