Its cheeriness may have assuaged or irritated subway riders at times, but what’s the story of the actual person behind the faceless voice? The New Yorker scoped out the owner of the voice — a certain Charlie Pellett, a British-born, American bred veteran news anchor at Bloomberg Radio.
