Through seasons, trends and generations, jeans are the foundation of any good look. This transcends concentrations and disciplines; oft-imitated, iconic fits – the rocker, the mod, the worker – are all cemented by the jeans. Sneaker culture, despite obviously being vested in footwear, is intrinsically tied to the jean, and frankly owes part of its popularity to an explosion in denim interest over the past ten years. From this, a new paradigm has emerged to stand as the next iconic look. Call it a “sneakerhead,” even call it the “HYPEBEAST” if you want, but the interaction of wearing and obsessing over jeans to highlight your kicks is specific to this generation.
