Google has utilized its I/O Developers Conference to unveil Project Jacquard, an enterprise that its Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) Group has been working on. Utilizing a textile woven with capacitative microfibers, the final result functions in much the same way as a touchpad, the input of which can be paired to a device of your choice. Levi’s has been announced as a partner in this initiative, among others like tailor Nick Hammond of Savile Row’s Norton & Sons, which will see the technological possibilities of Jacquard integrated into a variety of innovative fabric-based applications. For more information on Project Jacquard, keep an eye on its website in the coming days and weeks.
