The latest installment of Essentials focuses on Nick Wooster, a New York fashion-influencer whose personal style is a hybrid of street and classical elements, which he eclectically puts together to create his own unique aesthetic. After assuming the role of fashion director at some of New York’s high-end department stores, Wooster’s brand has since taken on a physicality of its own. A self-proclaimed “free agent,” he currently has a social media following approaching 500k, is always ready to collaborate with big brands and notes that he subscribes to the sartorial mullet: “Stay tailored up top and less buttoned up on the bottom,” he explained in an interview with Details.
For his Essentials, Nick Wooster’s selections are a juxtaposition between classic, refined pieces alongside some bold statement items. Items include the “Douglas” bag from Want les Essentials de la Vie, eponymous “The Wooster” slip-ons by Parabellum x Greats and the blue/white stripe shirt courtesy of Wooster + Lardini. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the bold pieces take the form of the Boro coat from Rare Weaves, the fuschia/orange leather zip pouch from Celine and the Hermes orange leather passport holder. The rest are travel essentials that are testament to his character and include a matte grey Zippo lighter, “Harding” sunglasses from Garrett Leight, Master and Dynamic headphones and two travel cases, one vintage and one navy flannel case with reflective trim from the Nick Wooster x Birchbox collaboration. The collection of pieces is complete with the two items necessary for maintaining his strong social media presence and they include an iPhone 6+ and a Macbook Pro.
